Number Five worked on this for all of last week and it was unveiled yesterday. She was commissioned to do it as a surprise birthday present for Mrs. D. by her husband, our friend and neighbor. During the past week I took pictures everyday of the painstaking process... he had seen our Window Art work and had the idea...
WOW,WOW,WOW.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!--like everything else she's made! What materials did she use? Was it an original composition or did she have an inspiration? Are there two mirror images? Just beautiful...
ReplyDeleteLooks like a job well done!! How many basic colors did she have to work with?
ReplyDeleteThe window had a mirror on the wall next to it...
ReplyDeleteShe used the Window Art refill colors for Klutz Window art, we got it from Amazon. Most of the colors she mixed herself.
Wonderful - and it's a Vermeer (extra lovely with a window in the window). What a project!

Yes, the Vermeer is entitled "Young Woman with Pitcher" and during that week we must have accessed every possible version of that painting that is online! This was such a fun project!
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely beautiful! What was used for the transparent canvas?
ReplyDeleteA very worthy art form to revive in the hearts of our children. :)
Our neighbor provided the transparent film, it was flexible but nice and heavy and it came with a removable translucent grid paper.
