This issue (August 2008) has such an interesting one that Husband was reading it aloud--I had, of course, another pile of laundry to fold. The review is on a book recently written by Fr. Jaki-- the Physicist/Theologian from Seton Hall and a sane voice in this young-earth-craze in the Catholic homeschool movement today--and it is entitled Sigrid Undset's Quest for Truth.
According to the reviewer, Fr. Jaki discusses Sigrid Undset's conversion and how important the Catholic faith became in her life. Most importantly, he speaks of how most biographers and literary discussions on her work simply look over this fact. I can't wait to read the book! Alas, I looked for it on the web and it is nowhere to be seen. I sent an email to the publishers--Real View Books--and I hope to be able to purchase a copy soon: the expectation of reading some literary analysis on Sigrid Undset's work under the light of her conversion and Catholic faith is exhilarating to this Catholic literature aficionado!
