The baking of a Christmas Pie


Husband's favorite is Minced Meat Pie... Numbers Six and Seven made him one yesterday. Essential ingredients: homemade aprons--a kit gift from Grandma, and of course candy canes! Number One was happy to be invited to share the delicious dessert. Note the original design of the sunshine rays--made using one of my Brazilian crystal Port glasses. 

If you are wondering: it was a store-bought filling, and I taught the girls to brush the crust with milk and sprinkle sugar before baking. I used to brush with egg for many years until I learned this trick from my friend Ann from the UK.
