Merry Christmas!

Midnight mass was beautiful with some sixteen altar boys, incense, ad orientem, and all that the Christmas liturgy calls for! The choir took the liturgy to new heights by chanting O Magnum Mysterium in polyphony during the Offertory.  Few times in life my heart was so pierced by beauty. The music came to console me as I thought of the far away daughter in convent, and the kids who could not be with us this year. The eyes swimming in tears, the music came to fill my heart to the brim with gratitude and love for God, who comes to earth and gives us hope and joy!
