Farewell +Camila

Our dear Camila went to the Lord yesterday--Marta and I think she and Mamae are having a sweet reunion.

So many prayers--it's been an intense spiritual time for me in many ways.

The sisters in Tehachapi have been faithfully praying with us, and wrote this beautiful message:

April 8, 2021
Easter Thursday; Octave of the Lord's Resurrection
Month Dedicated to the Holy Spirit and the Most Holy Eucharist
Year of St. Joseph; 900th Jubilee Year of our Order
Paschaltide

Dear Mrs. Henebry,

May the peace of Our Risen Lord be with you...

Mrs. Henebry, thank you for your e-mails and letting us know of the passing of your dear sister-in-law, Camila, yesterday, Wednesday in the Octave of Our Lord's Resurrection, and please know that we shared this news with Sr. Maria Perpetua. Sister sends her love and prayers to you and the whole family, and mentioned that she had just been thinking of her Aunt Camila yesterday morning.

On behalf of Mother, Sr. Maria Perpetua, and all the Sisters, we offer our heartfelt condolences and promise of prayers for the blessed repose of Camila's beloved soul, as well as for the consolation of you and all your family, and especially your dear brother,
João. We will also include Camila by name in our Sunday Mass intercessions for the faithful departed on this coming Divine Mercy Sunday, entrusting her beloved soul to Our Eucharistic Lord and to the timeless graces He pours out during the Holy Sacrifice.

May Our Blessed Mother surround
João and all of Camila's family, friends, and loved ones with strength and divine consolation, and may her precious soul, through the mercy of God, rest in His peace.

May God bless you, Mrs. Henebry, and may the Risen Lord fill us all with hope in Christ's glorious triumph over sin and death through His Passion and Resurrection...

Prayerfully and with sympathy in the Risen Lord Jesus Christ, Our Lady, St. Joseph and St. Norbert,

Praying for Camila

At the parish Marian garden these white daffodils opened...  how many times I stopped there on my bicycle or by car to start my rosary or say the Salve Regina for Camila. These are the first flowers of the season to open, bringing to mind and heart her joy in heaven.

Praying for Tia Camila

I have been asking God for Tia Camila, as a family and novenas with family members. She posted this photo recently. The same wonderful and warm smile! Number Four prays for her as well as she is his godmother.

Pentecost

At church I stopped as usual at the Marian garden... I usually ride my bike and wait there for Husband who walks, and start my rosary. A lady stopped by with these petit bouquet for the Blessed Virgin, and we chatted. I told her about dear Camila and how this garden will always be "Camila's garden" to me as I prayed so many times for her there.

We had Father Mike and the brand new Deacon Peter over--he is oldest of a family of 11 kids and knows many young men we know from Seminary!

I was able to gather flowers and greens from the backyard for a lovely vase... and baby Bennett enchanted us all as usual.

One year anniversary of Camila’s death

I opened the book where the flowers she sent me last year have been drying…

The framed arrangement will be a reminder for me of her loveliness, her smile, her kindness.

Yesterday in a message, Sr M. (novice mistress) mentioned that Sr Maria Perpetua was going to pray Matins (as a novice she isn’t required) at midnight thinking of the anniversary of Camila’s death. She has had a devotion to the souls in purgatory since she was little! Matins is the longest of the prayers of the Liturgy of the Hours—almost an hour long. Three times the chanting of psalms.

Praying for Camila

We continue praying for Camila along with so many in different continents!  She sent photos at home with a puzzle and coloring activities I was able to send via the Brazilian Amazon, and there is a brand new "Mary Garden" at the parish near here--how wonderful to ride my bike there and say a rosary for her!

A Prayer Bouquet for Camila

A large group of us family and friends continues to pray for our dear Camila. She loved the card representing our prayers and told me she wants to frame it.

Praying for dearest Camila

I've added a second rosary since she asked for prayers last year... she sent me recently photos of a trip they took to the Shrine of Aparecida. She said it is so empty, and even more welcoming and prayerful. I don't think I had ever seen the most recent wall paintings, and I like them!

Saint Therese's Feast Day

We finished a novena of prayers for Camila... who received beautiful roses in the Hospital a few days ago!

The Easter Story

My dear sister-in-law Camila just sent this. It may be in Portuguese... But you know the story!

Donating blood

I’ve donated through the years, but since the illness of dear Camila and also the birth of baby James—who has already benefitted from blood transfusions—donating blood has been that much more significant to me. Interesting how the interior disposition makes a process—one that would be altogether unpleasant—so pleasant.

Daily prayer

I organized a collection of photos of dear ones we regularly pray for, under the loving presence of Our Lady Aparecida. I am happy with it-- the photos remind us of our children we have been praying for (54 day Rosary Novena), godchildren, and dear Camila--starting the St Therese de Lisieux novena for her with the family prayer group today! It is still warm enough for me to ride the bicycle to mass everyday.

Praying for Tia Camila

She is recovering from her third surgery and we are asking God daily for her! She and I were friends in high school when she met my brother Joao. Pictured is their son Gabriel.
