Number Four off to Japan

He was home for over a month on leave and worked on so many projects-- many small ones that did not get photographed! Fixing the gate, the ice maker, the dishwasher, helping painting, spreading the huge pile of mulch etc. The big ones we made sure to photograph such as the S-shaped path in the backyard, planting the iris bed, hanging the metal bird plaque I gave Husband for Christmas.

Now he is off to Texas to spend a few days prior to departure checking in the base, and hosted by uncle Dave and Aunt Sue. Then it is off to Japan for a year!

Our own US Marines 2nd Lt.

We are so proud of him. It was a very beautiful (and cold) ceremony. On Family Day I shed tears--on Commissioning Day, it was Number Three's turn. Something touches the heart when we think of what they have gone through, and then are able to hug him. Number Four had us pin him, and his sargent gave him the "First Salute".
