Goodbye Brookings

I have visited Mary Parsley (95) residence for years to pray the rosary weekly... what a wise, strong and beautiful woman,  with so much to tell and inspire. She never complains, and is always glad to pray the rosary with me--and thanked me each and every time. This was a very difficult goodbye!

Moving out

The next day we went back to clean and grab the very last things.

And the moving truck came. In half a day they packed everything including the baby grand.

There were daily trips to grocery store and liquor store in search of good packing boxes!

Findings

At first I thought I wouldn't have the time to pack our things while teaching two summer intensive courses--but the price tag encouraged me--which was wonderful, as it gave us the opportunity to downsize immensely, and to find treasures. Such as our wedding wine bottles.

Now that I can post about it, I am backtracking a bit and will post some of the moving-related photos. We tried to enjoy the peace and beauty of the home until the last day.

Black Raspberries

For 3 years I have been caring for these--only to discover now that it is finally producing fruit that they are black raspberries, and well... I am glad Husband loves them. I just don't think they taste like raspberries.

The weather this summer seems propitious to our little roses--they smell heavenly! I don't think we got a single one last summer.
