Visiting family

More than 400 km traveled today took us to see more family, and get in touch again with our Portuguese heritage.

The first communion photographs of my father and his sister Teresa I found on the wall of her charming study which is in her wing inside our cousin Tiago's lovely country cottage. The handsome man is my grandfather Humberto in his Portuguese Navy garb. It is dedicated to his in-laws and dated May 1923.

So beautiful, Ana. I love your posts about Portuguese heritage.

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us!

Wonderful photos - I'm enjoying all the tidbits from your trip.

Tonight we celebrated the time at which the New Year arrived in the Azores at a party with some friends and I was wishing that I had had your family teach us how to count in Portuguese. Maybe next time, eh? :)
