Homemade Paper Saints!

Happy All Saints' Day!

Yesterday, before History and Latin classes, our young students worked on making these to add to our collection from last year--we used construction paper, glue and yarn.

Presenting, from left: St. Edith Stein (before entering Carmel), St Catherine Laboure, St. Rose, St. Maria Goretti, St Juan Diego, St. Joan of Arc, St. Jerome, St. Nick, St. Elizabeth of Hungary, St Rose.

The pictures below show details of Number Seven's depiction of her patron saint: she knew she taught before entering Carmel so she gave her a "teacher's stick" and a blackboard. I am quite sure we got smiles from heaven: how likely is it for a PhD in Philosophy to have 2+2 on her blackboard?

And the next two pictures are Number Six's two creations: St Elizabeth of Hungary--giving up her crown and having her helping-the-poor-apron on, and Saint Jerome, with his own and very important accessory right by him.
