Two by Number Five

I wish I knew the name of this little flower she found under the front steps!

Update: my friend Kim alerted me to the name of this wonderful little wildflower--and I found many pages of information for it like this one-- but Number Five's photo tops them all.

Your pretty flower found under the porch is a Columbine! This is the time of year they bloom and they will spread in both sun and shade. I love them and have many of this color in our yard. We also have some that are a deep purple with a bit bigger flower. The one you picture on your blog is the more natural, native, wildflower!

Thanks! Thanks! And I thought either Shannon K. or Patsy U. would be the first ones to enlighten my wildlife ignorance.

Dear Mrs. Braga-Henebry,
I was looking over the past few posts and saw the flower you wrote about. The one Isabel found. I knew I had seen it before, so I asked mom. She says that is is a columbine! thought you might like to know that. :o)

God bless!
Rachel
