Listening to the Penderwicks

Jeanne Birdsall loved reading E. Nesbit growing up... and I am amazed at how she suceeds in creating children's fiction today that carries an equivalent effect on the readers.

We have been listening in the car to the newest installment of her National Book Award recipient The Penderwicks: The Penderwicks on Gardam Street.

We love the sisters' love for each other, the professor, widower dad who blurts out Latin expressions often, the dog and the neighbors... a little world of a family home, but a grand book!

Ana, we have also really enjoyed both Penderwicks books. They're lovely.
