Small Successes

... hosted by Faith & Family!

I love the idea of Thankful Thursdays, and personal achievements are certainly to be thankful for!

I would like to mention the pumpkins I painted for a couple of fundraisers. I was inspired by my friend Jannell who made a gift to the libraries we use and who are so supportive to our homeschool life.

Why is this a small success? As my new reader Eloise can corroborate, we in Brazil do not grow up with Halloween. This time of the year is not fall but spring there, and our pumpkins, delicious and present in the meals often, do not look like the ones here. So I have always had a hard time adopting the whole scary-pumpkin, winter-is-coming thing. Well, this is a delightful, artistic way I learned to incorporate the beautiful pumpkins into our life in the fall!

You can make them to "say" anything but using them to thank God can make them last until the season of Thanksgiving!

Oi Ana,

I see that you got my post, hehehe.

What an excellent idea to incorporate such warm, God-loving aspects to a cold, chilly season. I, too, will give thanks for today's wonderful reveal.

Chiao,
Eloise

It is funny-I made the pumpkins to honor and thank our librarians because I was inspired by YOUR thankfulness to them! (And because I LOVE the pumpkins and SO enjoy making them. AND...I LOVE gifts!

Oi Ana,

What a great idea! I love it! I might do that for some people at my husband's work.
