Dom Marcos Barbosa, OSB, was a widely published poet, author, translator, radio daily chronicler and newspaper columnist for decades in Rio. It was about some of his poetry that I wrote my master's thesis. He baptized most of us kids and was a wonderful and close friend of my parents. Browsing through a box of old religious cards I found this little gem, a poem composed by him, and the card sent with a personal message. My sister and I believe another of the monks of the Saint Benedict Abbey in Rio was the artist of the cute picture of a monk contemplating the Sugar Loaf! The poem says:
