
They finally came in the kitchen, as they are one of the hardiest vegetables. Now, this is definitively not a vegetable I grew up with, I had to actually find its name in Portuguese:
alho-poro'.

Number Seven helped me and we cleaned and stored a wonderful amount of this mild, richly flavored vegetable of the onion family. We love it in soups with potatoes, and also chopped and sauteed as a side. From what I hear you can pay quite a bit for a couple of these at the store, so I am feeling quite rich!

yumm!!! we use leeks here all the time, but I have to say yours are much nicer looking than the ones we find at the market here!
