I had this conversation with a store clerk running the last errands with him yesterday. We can send as many children as we need off to college, but it doesn't get any easier in the heart. The practical side of it gets easier--we talked about laughing at the ridiculously-long lists stores want you to believe you need for the dorm room.
Number Four left earlier this morning for his new life as a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Nebraska. It was a beautiful early morning, he drove off in the stick-shift truck that has been his companion the past year since Husband bought a new car for his daily commute. God bless and keep you, son.
