Poem (or: an attempt towards one )

Waking up to a white world,
My heart is filled with gratitude.
For a warm house,
for fresh coffee brewing,
for time with my husband in the kitchen.

For the silence and beauty outside,
unexpected winter weather,
no longer frightening as it once was:
commonplace now, expected.

Thank You, Lord of Seasons,
for teaching my heart to understand them:
nature's seasons,
cycling through the landscape.
Just like the heart going through Life.

I love the photo! Really, really good--I'd frame it.

Thanks, Caitilin! A comment from you is a rare thing. I noticed the lack of praise for the "poem", however. Lol!

Hmm. Well, I don't think I'm an authority on poetry, but everyone appreciates visual beauty. :)

You should consider writing more poetry.
