Mara, Daughter of the Nile is an all-time favorite in this house. It is a well told story (by a Newberry-award author to boot) of a young double-agent in ancient Egypt. It is hard to locate a copy of this book any more but it is a great read. Number Six loved to read it aloud to us and is thinking of volunteering to do an audio version for LibriVox. We are reading it for my Geo-Lit class and the kids brought some artistic projects to show to the class!
