Congratulations!

Yesterday afternoon we were privileged to attend Number Six's first organ recital. The organ is a massive, gorgeous Bedient instrument in a church in downtown Sioux Falls where she is fortunate to receive weekly lessons! She was the youngest of Mrs. K.'s students and the first to play, and her Adoro te Devote sounded like heavenly music to our ears.

On another note, she was also notified that she has been awarded a scholarship that will go toward her organ lessons the next school year! The audition took place a bit over a week ago and it was not the easiest experience for her. She came through, however, with beautiful composure and confidence. Congratulations to our dear Number Six. We couldn't be more proud of you!

An Academy Scholar Recital

The SDAGO Academy (South Dakota American Guild of Organists Academy) had their annual recital yesterday afternoon featuring our own Number Six, winner of the 2011-12 Scholarship, and the youngest student to date to have been awarded that scholarship. She played three pieces, videos below, and received a certificate from the Academy's Director Elizabeth Soladay. We were so very proud of our daughter! We are also immensely grateful for her piano teacher Mrs. Gerdes who prepared for the scholasrhip auditions a year ago, and also for her excellent organ teacher Mrs. Lisa Kntuson, whose love for the king of instruments is a delight to all in our community!
