So... instead of taking the SS Badger Carferry for an un-family friendly total cost of $500+ (they were not willing to give us a family dicount, we tried) we drove around Lake Michigan and ended up entering the Lower Peninsula through Mackinac Bridge-- a beautiful piece of engineering--toll was exactly U$ 2.50!
