The Station Agent

Note: this is *not* a film for children. Adult themes, language and drug use.

I had read about The Station Agent long ago in the now defunct Crisis Magazine (sniff, sniff) and have been meaning to watch it since: Husband and I had the pleasure to watch it last night.

It was excellent! A movie that goes deep into the human spirit, and speaks of what it takes to be a friend. A good film swallows you into the heart of its characters, and this one does that in the first... minute.

The symbolism in the script is Flanneriesque-- starting with the name of the town: Newfoundland. Indeed, it is a new-found-land of self discovery, love and friendship for three lonely people. A love story!

Peter Dinklage steals the show--what a superb actor. Don't miss it!
