We studied them this past week in History. I found two You Tube videos that were helpful, one here and one here. This is a little known-chapter of our American History, but it should touch the chords of any Catholic American heart. Our History book, I think, does an excellent job bringing the story to the students!

Ah, I have two pieces of a rabbit trail you might find interesting. There is a movie on the San Patricio Brigade called One Man's Hero (it's probably too heavy for the younger set). Also, the Chieftains put out an album last year (I think) dedicated to them. It has a really interesting mix of Irish and Mexican music. It's called San Patricio (naturally!). Here's the link on iTunes:
