I just walked outside on what seemed to be a several inches layer of cracking, brittle glass to take this photo. Imagine the damage to the trees and power lines around here...
We are cold, but all together and safe. Under blankets, reading and talking. We are thankful for fruit, nuts, cheese... And the fact that aren't any large trees near the house. Also for the instant coffee Geoff has in his backpack that tastes just fine this morning with warm water from the faucet. And for our brand new, efficient 85-gallon water heater.
Once in a while we see the electric company trucks, working on installing new poles all around this area. The teens said it was eerie driving home yesterday seeing the electrical poles all on different angles next to the road. May God protect the workmen.
We are planning on another photographic expedition out there. Let's hope it will be a long time before we see this again.
