Geoff’s birthday in Lincoln

65 is looking really good on him! A sweet reunion chez pepinos! A sweet reunion chez Pepino! Goddaughter Marguerite made him a carrot cake.

Twins goddaughters’s visit

We are so happy they took the time to drive here from Buffalo New York, there’s a feeling of completed family with them around.

My birthday

Yesterday was a proof that even as I age and my birthday is invariably in dreadful winter weather, every birthday is the best ever. I was lector at noon mass after Adoration and Confession, and enjoyed a Vietnamese lunch with friend Carol who is a third order Dominican. The grandchildren and godchildren sang on video, passion fruit cocktail, flowers sent by Number One and Ciara, card and plant from Number Seven, Husband brought Indian food and I succeeded in making a Brazilian Rocambole from my mom’s recipe book! A happy day and hard to believe I am 61. Some days I feel 100 years old, but most days I feel not 61 but 16! Super Bowl had me cooking “game food” as well…

Two days in Wisconsin

On my way home from St. Paul I spent two days at Comadre Diana’s house to meet our new goddaughter! We enjoyed daily mass, talking, cooking and heating the kids play and sing! Diana and I met when she moved here from Brazil  13 years ago and now they have seven kids and a rich home school life.

Ten days in Nebraska

It had been far too long since we had seen our compadres and their delightful children, including our goddaughter Marguerite. Our days together we’re just like “going back home “even if they live in a different house now. We cooked, talked, had cocktails on the porch, early morning coffees, played games, and closed our days with late night rosaries. We saw old friend and cried on their shoulders. Number three and family, number Five and family and number Four all came as well. We  attended Clare’s wedding and rejoice with the whole family. Now I want for us to go annually!
