Number Five's final college piano recital

Yesterday Husband and I drove to St. Paul to attend Number Five's final college piano recital. Next year she will be student teaching in the spring semester and getting ready to graduate! Of all of the years watching her recitals, this was very much the crowning of it all. She played confidently, and passionately, and oh so beautifully! Talking to her professors and friends afterwards was a joy!

Number Five's new Schumann piece

She played it for us at "aunt Nancy's" and I'm happy I had the iPhone handy--enjoy!

Our friend Mark is making CD copies of his recording of the recital--a wonderful gift!--but here are just some snippets I took with the iPhone of most of the pieces.

Senior Recital photos

Last night Number Five entertained over 120 people playing beautiful piano pieces at her Senior recital. School choir director Cathy Britton. introduced her with very nice words about her work ethic and her pleasant personality, and grandparents were in town to enjoy the event. It was a fabulous evening! The photos show her friends, family, piano teachers and students!

Chamber Music

Numbers Five and Six played in a delightful evening of chamber music last night at the Washington Pavilion. I took two short videos with my iPhone. We were beaming with pride as Number Five's trio performance of one sophomore and two juniors in high school sounded confident and mature, and Number Six's, the youngest chamber group in the state (she is 12 and the two other members 11), reflected their hard work.

Four piano students and a wonderful teacher

Mrs. S. brings the best out of her students! Their Sunday Chopin piano recital was a rich pleasure!
